Lankan maid attempts suicide in Kuwait

A Sri Lankan woman was referred to Adan Hospital for treatment where she was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit in serious condition for allegedly consuming large quantity of pills in Mahboula, Kuwait.
When a Kuwaiti woman saw her housemaid lying unconscious on the floor of her house in Mahboula and noticed some medicines beside her, she immediately notified the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior.
Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and referred the victim to Adan Hospital.
A case was registered and investigations are ongoing to determine whether the victim was attempting suicide and if so, the reasons for her suicide attempt.
In a separate incident an unknown individual attacked a Sri Lankan expatriate at night in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh recently and stole his wallet and mobile phone.
According to security sources, the victim rushed to Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Police Station after the incident and lodged a complaint against the unknown suspect, informing securitymen that his wallet contained KD 50 and some official and personal documents.
Investigations are ongoing to find and arrest the suspect.
