Provincial Council member arrested over punishing teacher

North Western Provincial Council member Ananda Sarath Kumara who was arrested for allegedly punishing a school teacher.

The UPFA Provincial Council member is accused of punishing a female teacher of the school at Navagattegama by making her kneel down, after she reportedly warned the Kumara’s daughter regarding her uniform. The teacher had later lodged a complaint with the police over the incident.
