Car ablaze on southern expressway

A car heading to Kottawa caught fire at the 54.2 milepost on the Southern Expressway this morning, police media spokesman said.

Car skidded off the road on the Southern Expressway (E01) and crashed into the security fence which caused the fire, police said. The car had been completely destroyed. The driver managed to escape the car and he was admitted to the Elpitiya hospital. Uragaha police are conducting investigations.
