Court issues notice on Treasury Secretary

Colombo High Court today issued notice on Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera to appear in Court on July 23 to give evidence in the VAT scam case.

Colombo High Court judge Kumudhini Wickremasinghe ordered that the Treasury Secretary appear before the court while taking up the case this morning (July 1). Furthermore, the court also ordered former Commissioner of Internal Revenue Department to appear before the court on that day. The suspects who are already in remand over the VAT scam of Rs. 4 billion were presented at courts today.
