Government to implement changes in Provincial Council system: Kehiliya Rambukwella

The Minister of Mass Media and Communication Kehiliya Rambukwella announced government is in stance to implement changes in the provincial council system.

It’s compulsory to implement changes in the land and police powers introduced in 1988. Provincial council method introduce according to the diplomatic relationship between India and SriLanka. We will brief Indian government this regard. The minister of economic development Basil Rajapaksa will explain Indian government on 13th constitutional amendment. Government headed by the president Mahinda Rajapaksa decided to implement 58 recommendations of Lesson Learnt and Reconciliation Commission appointed by the head of state. This recommendation would help to solve problems face by Muslims in the Eastern province, International humanitarian law, human rights and also problems face by displaced people in the Northern Province, sources said.
