Government would be defeated in two provinces: Intelligen​ce Unit

Members of army intelligence unit informed Defence Secretary that SriLanka Freedom Party would be defeated in the two provincial councils.

Rajapaksa government paid special attention on Deyata Kirula exhibition. At present Rs.280 billion allocated for development programmes in the Kurunegala district of North Western province. Rs.40 -50 million allocated from each grama seva divisions in the area. Meanwhile Rs.1 billion gifted towards each provincial council member to obtain more votes from people. Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa has appointed retired two senior DIG’s to provide better security for individuals engage in illegal activities during the time of election at the Central and Northern provincial councils. A special report hand over to the Defence Secretary by the Chandra Wakist, Director General of the intelligence unit clearly noted that government would be defeated in the Central and Northern provinces. According to the report 90% of northern people and 70% of people from the central provinces supports opposition political parties in the country.
