He stated that those individuals are living in a different world and are drunk on state power.
He stated that public funds are being wasted without any cause or inquiry and that large scale investment projects undertaken by the government including the Mattala Airport and Hambantota Harbour, have ended in failure.
The Gampaha District MP stated that four state-owned institutions are responsible for the losses incurred by the state sector, namely the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), Mihin Air and SriLankan Airlines.
“The government is spending money as if it’s their family inheritance,” he told reporters in Colombo today.
Accusing the government of having no feelings towards public funds, Jayasuriya stated that unnecessary state expenditure in soaring and that excessive amounts are spent on foreign tours and extravagant ceremonies. |
