Magistrate ordered public to appear in court to provide evidents on Weliweriya clash

The Gampaha Magistrate today inspected the site of the violent clashes in Weliweriya.

The Magistrate had later ordered the police to instruct the public to appear in court on August 8 if they want to make statements on the incident. Weliweriya was tense last night with soldiers patrolling the area after violence broke out last evening leaving one person dead and 30 others injured. According to reports from the area, people were forced to stay indoors and also Colombo -Kandy road between Weliweriya close down, police sources said.
