still Tension prevails at Gampaha

Even after one person dead and 23 injured still a tensed situation prevails at the Weliweriya area in Gampaha and army and police have been deployed to monitor the situation.

The tensed situation is controlled by the way of, people being forced to stay indoors and electricity being disconnected. The army had fired in the sky still the protestors have thrown stones and other objects on them and this has worsen the situation. According to the police, the decision to temporarily close the factory was taken at a meeting held between officials and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
