Lankan Navy arrests 8 Indian fishermen

Sri Lankan Navy arrested 8 Indian fishermen who had crossed the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and were fishing in waters north of the Talaimannar coastal line.
The Indian fishermen were arrested and their 2 mechanised fishing trawlers confiscated by a team of navy personnel from the Talaimannar navy camp.
Later, they were handed over to Talaimannar Police and are scheduled to be produced at the Mannar Magistrate’s Court today, Indian media reports.
Family members of fishermen expressed concern over this arrest.
