CaFFE urge to invite internatio​nal election monitors to country

CaFFE announced at present number of military representation increased in the Northern Province and request election commissioner to take necessary steps to invited international election monitors from Commonwealth or the European Union.
Director of the organisation Keerthi Tenakoon further noted since end of the war in the Northern part of SriLanka number of military representation increased in the province. Political freedom and also freedom to make comments were strongly restricted and compulsory to invite election monitors prior to the election.

Speaking to BBC deputy Election Commissioner M.M.Mohamad said that the Election commission much more interested to invite international election monitors from the Commonwealth Organisation.
We will hold discussions with representatives of political parties and independent groups and will make final decision this regard, deputy election commissioner said.
