Case file against LTTE members attacked "Syura" ship

Case file against six LTTE members on attacking “Syura “ naval ship and killing naval personals. Colombo high court judge Preethi Pathman Suzan called up on case on August 22. A Sinhala national also named among these suspects. 24 charges are filed against them.

Sinhala national has supported LTTE to attack naval ship at Negombo. Leader of the LTTE Sea Tigers Soosai, Charles Antony, Rani Kumar and Nixon were present at this attack. LTTE supporter Warnakulasuriya Christy Fernando alias “ Tiger Christy” resident of Negombo also supported LTTE in this operation. Syura ship was attacked on June 16, 2006. All these suspects were detained for more than 8 years. Lawyer Chaminda Athukorala appeared on behalf of suspects request to release all these suspects. However Lawyer Lakshman Perera said we are willing to hold discussion with attorney general on accepting the allegations.
