SLMC Chairman revels against party

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) sources said that the party is in yet another turmoil, as the Chairman of the party is likely to leave it.

SLMC Chairman Basheer Segu Dawood recently has said in public that the party should contest the Provincial Council election under the UPFA ticket. The SLMC Supreme Council had summoned MP Dawood to show cause for dissenting the collective decision of the party, but a party spokesman said that he had not turned up. SLMC Supreme Council is next scheduled to meet on August 5 and the Chairman is expected to appear on that day, the SLMC spokesman said.
