A committee to probe the conduct of the Army

Army Commander Daya Rathnayake has appointed a 5 member board of inquiry headed by Major General Jagath Dias to look into the incident which took place in Weliweriya.

56 individuals who were injured as a result of the incident at Weliweriya are still receiving treatment in hospitals. The autopsy of the youth who died during the protest in Weliweriya was carried out at the Gampaha National Hospital yesterday. The autopsy revealed that the cause of death was a gun shot wound. Meanwhile hospital sources reveal that the condition of a 19 year old youth who is receiving treatment at the Colombo National hospital is critica
