Kadirgamar's land case on August 05

“The Court of Appeal will be take up the b petition filed by assassinated Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar’s, son Sriraghavan Kadirgamar, asking that his land not be seized by the state on August 5th”, said instructing Attorney Lilanthi de Silva.

The respondents to Sriraghavan Kadirgamar’s case are the Minister of Lands and Land Development Janaka Bandara Tennekone and the Land Acquiring and Land Surveying Officer of Jaffna District. Although he was told that would be able to use his land fully once the High Security Zones in Jaffna Peninsula are cleared he had not been done so. Upon a second visit in May 2013, he found construction had begun he has heard that his land was being acquired to build a Defence Battalion Headquarters.
