More protesters die in Sri Lanka water dispute

A second Sri Lankan protester admitted at the hospital soon after injuries died and another four is also suspected to have died.

Siridamma, the senior Buddhist monk in the area just outside the capital said, “Following Thursday's shooting people of Weliweriya were fearful of leaving their houses”. The independent Lawyers Collective on Saturday condemned the crackdown against the peaceful protest by villagers who were demanding clean drinking water for thousands of residents of Weliweriya.
