Mosque at Grandpas, Colombo face threats

Buddhist monks continuously cause threats to declare open new mosque at the Grandpas, Colombo. Recently Mulsims at Grandpas decided to shutdown the old mosque and open new mosque in the area.
Group of Buddhist clergies staged protest infront of the mosque on Friday and cause disturbances towards prayer service.
Speaking to BBC Tamil service UNP MP Mujibhu Rahman stated police have ordered Muslim religious leaders to conduct prayers services in the old mosque until both religious leaders to hold further discussions on this issue.
MP further noted the ministry of Buddha Sasana headed by the prime minister as already granted approval to declare open new mosque at this area.
However we were unable to contact ministry of Budhna Sasana this regard.
In the recent past Buddhist monks have attacked mosques at Anuradhapura, Dambulle, Balangoda and several other areas.
