Nothern election: Daya Master will be given nominations

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP),the main constituent party of ruling alliance, will have another interview session tomorrow to select the candidates for the Northern Provincial Council election, party sources said.

The interview will be held under the patronage of the Northern Provincial Council election coordinator of the SLFP, Minister Susil Prema Jayantha, Colombo media reports. Around 40 individuals participated in the interview held earlier. Former spokesman of the Tamil rebel group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Velayutham Dayanithi alias Daya Master also participated in the interview. Recently released LTTE's former women's political wing leader Subramanium Shivathavi alias Thamilini has also sought candidature of the ruling SLFP for the Northern Provincial Council election. However, SLFP sources say that out of the former LTTE cadres, onlyDaya Master will be given nominations by the party.
