MR to attend UN meet

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to attend the high level meeting of the UN General Assembly later this month, Presidential spokesman Mohan Samaranayake said.

However he said the final schedule of the President’s visit to the US for the meeting is still not confirmed. The High level meetings at the UN in New York will be held from September 23 to October 4. The General debate of the 68th session takes place from September 24. Last year External Affairs Minister Professor G.L Peiris addressed the sessions on behalf of Sri Lanka while in 2011 President Mahinda Rajapaksa spoke.
