Photo People resettled at Akkarai village, Jaffna

People resettled at the Valalai Akkarai village at Kopai, Jaffna today. Military personals have ruled the area for past 27 years and also village handover to villagers this morning.

The Minister of Small Enterprises and Development Douglas Devananda, Governor of the province G.A.Chandrasiri, Army commander of the Jaffna district Maj.Gen.Mahinda Hathurusinghe, secretary to the governor E.Ilankowan, deputy divisional secretary of Jaffna peninsula Sudharshan , local council members ,civilians and high ranking military officers were also present at this event. Since end of war in 1986 this village was ruled by military personals. For the first step 38 families were resettled in the village today.
